Key Takeaways from CCW Berlin 2026

March 2, 2026

The customer management world anticipates a number of events each year, and CCW Berlin counts among them.  The 2026 iteration of this annual gathering took place last week, during which a mix of vendors, enterprise buyers and industry influencers assembled across the vast Estrel conference facility on Berlin’s eastern flank.  As with any such conference, there were a number of highlights at CCW Berlin 2026 that deserve unpacking.  In no particular order, these include:

  • CCW Berlin is a window into upcoming CX trends – the scheduling of this annual event in February is crucial for customer management decision-makers. It offers participants the chance to learn what is coming forward in the CX space, via interactions with conference speakers and trade show exhibitors alike, as well as from other attendees.  The willingness to discuss preoccupations in customer experience delivery, as well as emerging business models and solutions in the offing, are hallmarks of this Q1 mainstay.  It is a primary reason why so many forward-looking executives travel to Germany’s capital during the last week of February.
  • CCW Berlin has become a true global industry summit – conventional wisdom among many not familiar with CCW Berlin is that its focus is mainly for the German-speaking CX ecosystem; at most, it could be perhaps considered a European gathering. But, the reality is that last week’s CCW Berlin 2026 had a very international flavor.  Beyond attendees and exhibitors from across Europe, the presence of participants from a variety of international destinations was notable, including Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and North America.  There are very few large CX events of a truly international nature, but CCW Berlin has evolved into one of them.
  • Networking at CCW Berlin 2026 was unbeatable – if the objective of an attendee at this year’s CCW Berlin was to make new connections and re-enforce existing ones, their time was well spent. This was remarked by many participants, and it was noted that the atrium of the convention center was bustling with one-on-one meetings between members of the global CX ecosystem.  As this event continues to garner the reputation of one not to miss, its attractiveness to those wanting drive their own connections will be significant.
  • A tech event as opposed to a CX one? – a concern that was raised anecdotally by several participants at CCW Berlin 2026 was the heavy emphasis on technology vendors that dominated the trade show floor. And, while there were some BPO firms present, most were global outsourcing brands attempting to masquerade as born-again AI providers. Objectively, this phenomenon is not restricted to this past week’s conference and is a concern that continues to be discussed across the sector, as it relates to industry events.  The question that was raised in an upcoming episode of The CX Files where CCW Berlin 2026 attendees were interviewed was the extent to which CCW Berlin’s exhibitors actually address customer experience outcomes, as opposed to perpetuating hype-cycles.  While technology in CX delivery is important, focusing nearly exclusively on this piece of the puzzle has the potential to limit the trade show floor’s appeal and could erode its impact with attendees.

The CX sector can only succeed if its leaders have the opportunity to connect with other industry players, and CCW Berlin 2026 provided such a forum.  The event continues to attract some of the best people in customer management, and credit goes out to its organizers. This is not to say that certain tweaks aren’t in order.  As noted above, there is a clear need to re-balance the event’s trade show so that it has more of a broader customer management focus, one in which players from across other parts of the CX ecosystem are represented.  Notwithstanding, the pull of CCW Berlin each year is strong, and it remains a cannot-miss event for global brands and their leaders.
